"Without that knife, I might not be here today"

Jarred Ha was forced to use his knife to defend himself after having been overpowered and assaulted. What began as a verbal dispute over parking arrangements with a fellow student and neighbor, quickly evolved into a dire situation for Jarred.

Using his karambit, a knife his father had given him for protection, Jarred ultimately lacerated his attacker multiple times, finally escaping the altercation.

The legal battle to come would expose an investigation and a media portrayal stacked against Jarred from day one. Faced with an impossibly difficult decision, Jarred and his family prepared for the hardest year of their lives.
