On CNN Tonight this evening, Buck Sexton argued that the only reason Russian hacking is getting so much attention now is because it feeds a narrative liberals are trying to push about President-elect Donald Trump.
CNN national security analyst Juliette Kayyem argued that politics shouldn’t be of primary importance with a foreign nation “playing in our democratic elections.”
Sexton said this in response:
“The reason this is getting so much attention right now is because it’s part of a broader narrative, and that narrative is that Donald Trump is an illegitimate president, that Russia tipped the scales in his favor.”
Kayyem scolded him for downplaying this and they ended up getting into a back-and-forth with Sexton telling him off for lecturing her about these issues when he himself is former CIA.
