Description

101st Airborne Soldiers training to disembark on Black Hawk and the transport of military cannon (105mm field-gun), humvee, with Helicopters (Black Hawk, Chinook).

The CH-47 Chinook is a helicopter for transporting heavy original American manufactured by Boeing . Its two tandem rotors and shape make it an easily recognizable helicopter.

The first flight of the prototype YCH-47A Chinook, a "big brother" of Vertol 107 (which gave birth to the CH-46 Sea Knight of the US Marine Corps ) took place on 21 September 1961 . It was then produced by Vertol Aircraft Corporation, which later became Boeing Vertol and Boeing Helicopters,.

The device was then gradually developed to turn into models C and D.

It was also built under license by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. in Japan and Meridionali in Italy .

The US Army turned 479 CH-47A / B / C D models from 1982 ; Currently, they are being transformed to the CH-47F standard ICH (Improved Cargo Helicopter) for the US Army Aviation involving air assets of the US Army.

The UH-60 Black Hawk is a helicopter average utility of the US military . Designed by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to replace the UH-1 Huey was becoming obsolete, this new helicopter first flew in 1974 and was called to active duty in 1979 . Replacing the Huey by the Black Hawk was not long numbers for many because of the high price of the device; the most important being those units with priority of this new machine.

The presence of two large sliding doors on both sides of the fuselage allow quick loading / unloading of the unit. Its cost is high, but the Black Hawk helicopter is a good tactic that has excellent flying qualities and good maneuverability.

The 101st Airborne Division US - English 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) - is a division of the Army of the United States driven primarily for airborne assault (early) and helicopter.

For historical reasons, it retains the term "airborne", even though the division conducted more such operations. This type of operation is now reserved for the 82nd Airborne Division . It is also reorganized in 2006 into four combat brigades and this is the only division of the Army of the United States to have two aviation brigades.

The 101st, nicknamed the "Screaming Eagles" (Screaming Eagles, according to the image on the insignia of the division), was distinguished during the Second World War, during the Normandy landings in June 1944 . She then participated in Operation Market Garden in September 1944 and at the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. It was seven years to the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War in 1991 and the war Iraq in 2003.
